Thoughts on resale via Fidelity?

Unlike other resale brokers Fidelity is pretty much M-F, 9-5. I'd just follow up with a phone call.
It must depend on the agent. The agent for the deal I am in ROFR with worked to get it done over the weekend.

We had a great experience twice with fidelity. Just bought using another company and I’ll be going back to fidelity.

I had a positive experience with Fidelity (my only experience buying DVC, so nothing else to compare it to). I submitted my offer on a Saturday. Broker emailed me Sunday morning to confirm the offer details, then afterwards immediately sent the offer to the sellers - and my offer was approved an hour later. Everything else was smooth sailing from there, 39 days later points were in my account (as a new member)

So I was waiting to comment on this thread until my DVC journey was complete. My points were added to my new member account today! I would just like to add that my wife and I used Fidelity on our BLT contact. Everything with them was great from start to finish. We made our offer on the contract around 2PM EST and heard back from Bonnie within a couple of hours. She advised me that she would speak to the sellers. The sellers responded back and the offer was accepted. All of this was by the next day.

Our contract was sent to ROFR the day after the offer was accepted and our deposit was requested and everything went very smoothly. Fidelity was very communicative throughout the process. Once we heard back from ROFR they sent us our closing documents very quickly and were there to assist with any questions we had. They did use Cammy over at DVC Title and Escrow and she was great as well.

Honestly, when I started looking at contracts there was much feedback on this forum about Fidelity and it made me almost want to steer clear of them. I know everything isn't always smooth for everyone but I am very glad I used them. I would never hesitate to use them again if we ever decided to add on.

I recently purchased a resale contract with Fidelity and they were very easy to work with and had great communication. Bonnie was the broker on my resale, and Rose was my contract coordinator. I got an outline of the process, timeline estimates, and regular updates. Karina was my closing agent with TRCS, Inc.

I’m the OP and after a winding path to get here, we started the process of buying BLT resale via fidelity. We are super impressed so far! We submitted an offer Thursday (at around 7pm est), heard back quickly from the agent, and the sellers accepted our offer (received email from agent at around 11pm est). We paid the deposit yesterday and esigned the offer this morning.

FYI to future buyers - the documents arrived via S-sign and went into junk email so you might have to search for them.

Glad to hear you are having a good experience so far! We had a great experience with Fidelity…and saved a lot of $$ compared to the other resale sites.

I don’t know why, but that happens to me every time with every broker/title co. Even after I have replied to them. lol

I wasn’t aware of the $225 service fee and was disappointed because in my mind it upped the price per point I was paying. But I still moved forward. They hadn’t sent to ROFR and I emailed asking why and they said they hadn’t gotten my contract back yet. I had signed it a couple days earlier, they verified they did have it and then sent it. Between that and me email going to junk and me not seeing it, it slowed the process up a little bit.

We knew about the fee going in to working with fidelity (the agent didn’t tell us but we weren’t surprised) = the savings per point for a contract that worked for us via fidelity versus another broker outweighed the 225$ fee.

Cant you negotiate for the seller to pay the $225 admin fee?

I did two deals on there back in 2021. I have nothing bad to say but also nothing good to say ... it was pretty straightforward and all done through email. I almost always had a 24 hour response rate which worked for me.

I just did a deal through them on BLT point. I had Shawn Ray as my agent. Everything went fine with Fidelity.

The title company, on the other hand, failed to send me closing documents. When I asked where they were 10 days later, they said they sent them 10 days earlier, and should check my spam filter. They weren't in there. Then, suddenly, a new set of closing documents appeared in my inbox without me asking for them to be re-sent. I paid that day, and then waited and waited. The seller had gone on vacation (important later...) and eventually signed two weeks later. Disney transferred the contract two weeks after that.

I noticed 2023 points missing from the newly purchased contract. I contacted Shawn. She said the points were there as of ROFR. She then contacted the seller. The seller claimed the points were there and it was Disney's mistake. Then, the next day, the seller found out that the "extra day" they spent at a DVC resort during that vacation was taken out of the contract they were selling, instead of another contract they had. They offered BWV points instead, and I said no. It took them another 10 days to fix the problem with DVC and give me the BLT points. During this period, Shawn emailed me updates as to what was happening, and assured me that if the seller couldn't get DVC to restore the point, Fidelity would be sending me a check for the missing points (at $25 per point!).

Was your title company First American by chance? Because the exact same thing happened to me with the supposed closing documents having been sent, but never were.
