September 2024 Check In Thread

My husband and I are definitely going! We'll be there from the 16th to the 21st with me doing four park days and my husband doing three, and assuming we can get tickets, doing the Oogie Boogie event. Hopefully, we'll have a couple of friends join us, but they haven't bought tickets yet, and one-half of the couple balked at three park days, so we'll see how that goes!

Taking the family for the 16th-23rd, staying at the Tropicana. If the dates stay T/Th/Su like previous years, that should give us 3 possible dates for OBB tickets, so I feel optimistic about our chances. It will be our first time at Disney for Halloween though, so even if we don't get to do a party night I am still very excited!

Planning on the second week in September.

Would like to be there on the 1st (birthday) but that is Labor Day and I figure it will still be crowded with folks on a last trip before school starts back and then avoiding Run Disney the next weekend. So I've got my room reservation on the 10th. Decided on a bucket list item and doing club level for the first time. Probably the only time LOLOL

However this is contingent on OBB. If I don't get Bash tickets I may scrap the trip since that is what I really want to do.

Third weekend of September for us! It'll be kiddo's first trip. We're skipping Oogie though... But at least we'll get to see the decorations.

I've been looking into shuttles and was hoping someone could help. This my first time taking the kiddo and we're flying in, no car seat with us. I've been looking into shuttles to the resort. Long Beach Shuttle offers an option to use a car seat, but are there any others that offer this service? Thanks!

Edit: Forgot to add, we're flying into LGB and going straight to the resort. We won't be leaving the property.

I haven't used them from Long Beach but I did use Lansky once from John Wayne to one of the hotels on Harbor. They texted to let us know when they arrived and helped with bags in baggage claim. I would use them again, the car was very clean and the car seat was in good condition.

Going just one park hopping day - either Thur the 19th or Sat the 21st. Just me & my 5yo. We’re not doing OBB, since he’ll be out of steam by evening. Having such a hard time deciding which day! I want to avoid crowds to the best of our ability (I get that it’s Disneyland at Halloween), but there’s so much conflicting info out there about Sept crowds.

I’m so excited though. Haven’t been since I was a kid & my child’s soul will probably leave his body in joy at Galaxy’s Edge…or if he gets to see ElastiGirl. 🖤 I’m excited for that, pumpkin food, special costumes, Kylo Ren, and just getting to pal around with my little guy on a big adventure.

I can’t decide where to stay either! Def want an early entry hotel. Pixar place is going to have more design elements that will excite my little dude, but he’s also obsessed with monorails, and we’ll have time the day before the parks to go hang at the pool. He also loves swimming.

If he loves swimming, you may be better off at the Disneyland hotel if you can swing the prices. I've seen videos of the pool at Pixar Place and it looks pretty small, although there is one waterslide. It sounds like much of your focus will be Galaxy's Edge - you would have slightly closer proximity to Disneyland Park from the Disneyland Hotel, along with a bigger pool area.

Anyone can take the monorail.
Haha. Oops. I was referring to the monorail themed water slides at the pool! :D I know they don’t actually DO anything but house the slide, but he’s 5 & would dig it. The pool at DLH just looks way better than PP.

The distance difference between DLH & PP feels insignificant to me. It really just comes down to design elements vs pool. I read a lot of reviews saying the the insulation is terrible at PP & you can hear the guests next door use the toilet and stuff, so leaning hard towards DLH.

If I really splurged & got the DTD view room, I think it’s pretty likely we’d see the fireworks from the room if we were there Sat, yeah? Has anyone done that? Anyone know if any TV or radio chanel plays the music that goes with the fireworks show?
