Dreamflight 2023 just landed in Orlando! This is a great charity that takes nearly 200 ill and disabled VICs (Very Important Children) from around the UK and flies them to Orlando on a private British Airways plane for a ten day holiday. If it's anything like their previous annual trips, they'll be in Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, and some of the waterparks. If you're in the parks you'll see each group of children wearing brightly colored shirts and costumes and they'll be accompanied by a small army of volunteer doctors, nurses, and escorts to make sure everyone is having fun and staying healthy. What's unique is that each child travels without their parents and are just monitored by the volunteers in a way to also help them gain some independence and confidence. They always look like they are having a blast so if you see them around town make sure to give them a smile and maybe some extra patience as the large group, usually with many wheelchairs, potentially queues in line in front of you. Here's hoping they have a fantastic trip!
